If you need CPR - we will be offering CPR on Sunday, October 28th as a part of our Final Weekend


In 2000-2001 - CHSAA changed their bylaws to include a Doctor of Chiropractic to perform pre-participation sports physicals for middle school and high school athletes. A DC must have a SPC number on file with CHSAA to perform these pre-participation credits. 


All of the CCA's PPE courses meet the requirements as outlined by CHSAA and the CCA will be sure CHSAA has your updated SPC number on file following each course.

Each class is paired with CPR to meet both CHSAA's requirements and DORA's requirements to have an active CPR card. Hours taken in both of these courses count towards your continuing education requirements per DORA. 1 hour of classroom lecture = 1 CE hour. 


CPR must have a minimum of 5 people to move forward with the class. Classes with less than 5 people registered for CPR only may be cancelled up to 3 days prior to the date. If the CPR portion is cancelled due to low attendance, you will be refunded your registration costs. Register early to ensure the class is not cancelled!

*****New to 2018! All classes will come with a $50 at the door registration surcharge, NO EXCEPTIONS. As many of our courses require materials to prep ahead of time, help CCA staff by registering early. Be sure to register at least 2 business day ahead of the course to avoid this fee. ***** 


2018 PPE & CPR Schedule - updated as more dates are set:

April 7th - Denver - Dr. Bob Nelson & Dr. Monty Wilburn, Dr. Mark Wolff (CPR)

May 12th - Loveland - Dr. Bob Nelson & Dr. Monty Wilburn, Dr. Mark Wolff (CPR)

June 2nd - Colorado Springs - Dr. Bill Moreau & Dr. Mark Wolff (CPR) - limited to 30!!!

June 14th - Denver - Dr. Bob Nelson & Dr. Monty Wilburn, Dr. Mark Wolff (CPR)

June 23rd - Grand Junction - (no CPR at this course) - Dr. Tim Rinn

October 18th - Denver - Dr. Bob Nelson & Dr. Monty Wilburn, Dr. Mark Wolff (CPR)


The schedule is the SAME for all classes and is as follows (with the exception of Grand Junction as there will be NO CPR at the Grand Junction location)


Initial Certification: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Re-Certification: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Lunch: (On your own to allow CPR to set up): 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

CPR: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm


Successful passing of a test for BOTH classes is required.


Robert Nelson, DC, DACBSP, CCEP, CSCS, FIAMA, FICC is a 1986 graduate of Logan Chiropractic College and maintains a private practice in Lakewood, Colorado. He serves on the post graduate faculty for Palmer and Western States Colleges of Chiropractic. He has also taught for Parker, Logan and Northwestern Colleges of Chiropractic. A member and president of the Colorado Chiropractic Sports Council for over 9 years, Dr. Nelson has won numerous awards in the field of sports chiropractic. In 1998, he was honored by the ACA Sports Council for his outstanding service to the profession of sports chiropractic and in 1996, he was given an outstanding service award by the Wrangler Sports Chiropractic program for his work with the Pro Rodeo Cowboy’s Association (PRCA). He has been awarded the CCA Sports Award 5 times. In 2008, he was awarded the ACBSP’s Sports Chiropractor of the year. In 2010 he recieved the Leonard Schroeder Award for the Best Original Research. He is a past president of the CCA, the president of the ACBSP and the Colorado delegate to the ACA. He served as team chiropractor for the Pro-Jet Ski Tour, Pro Snowboard Tour, PRCA rodeos, regional and world finals of the Triple Crown of Softball, NFL Four on Four football tournament and the NIKE Youth Soccer Tournament. 


Monty Wilburn, DC, CCSP served as a circuit coordinator for the Pro Sports Chiropractic Program and is one of Colorado’s first Wrangler Sports chiropractic doctors.  He has personally provided chiropractic treatment to over 1,000 cowboys in the course of 100 rodeos.  Since 1991, Dr. Wilburn has been extremely active with the CCA.  He has served in many different capacities as board member and committee chair.  He is a two-time winner of the CCA Young Chiropractor of the Year award.  In 1992, Dr. Wilburn revived the Fort Collins Chiropractic Association and has served as their president and as a board member.  A 1990 graduate of Los Angeles Chiropractic College, Dr. Wilburn maintains a private practice in Fort Collins, Colorado.


CPR Instructor: Mark Wolff, DC, DABCO, DACAN is a Board Certified Chiropractic Orthopedist, a Board Certified Chiropractic Neurologist, and has over 30 years in private chiropractic practice in Lakewood, Colorado. He is a 1980 graduate of Texas Chiropractic College served as Past President of the Jefferson County Chiropractic Society and the Colorado Chiropractic Association. Dr. Wolff was certified as a Red Cross First Aid Instructor in the mid 1980s, then was certified as a Medic First Aid Instructor in 2001, certified as an Emergency First Response Instructor in 2002, and is currently certified as an Emergency First Response Instructor Trainer since 2008. Dr. Wolff has certified hundreds of doctors and lay people to perform CPR, AED and first aid procedures. He has also certified a number of people as CPR/AED/first aid instructors.
